From thwarted dreams of being pop superstars, and determined to highlight the value of the great songs the make up the cultural mainstream canon, Caribe Mix ‘23 proposes the staging of a video clip for the original song “No Se Va a Pegar (Pop-Star)”. This piece feeds on the utopia of fiction and shows in its transitions what we never see as compulsive consumers of live streaming: the other side of the pop star.
Mar Garcia, choreographer and performer, and Javi Soler, orchestra and choir conductor, are a company motivated by research and scenic creation around the relationship and transversality between movement and sound, both areas as protagonists of the action. The concreteness of the scenic material through the score and the search for a connection with the spectator characterise their compositional style. In addition, their creative concern is to combine technical references of contemporary composition with references belonging to their generational context and to the collective imaginary.
