SOLÈNE WATCHER & BRYANA FRITZ

AEROWAVES: Logbook

June, 13
Popup - Descomptes

On stage, fragments accumulate, collide and overlap. Gestures, sounds and ideas appear, disappear, return and interrupt each other. Logbook unfolds as a space of polyphony, where several things are allowed to happen at the same time, without being aligned or resolved. Registers shift abruptly, textures layer, rhythms break. What emerges is not fusion but friction, a live composition made of short scenes and sudden turns. Almost like a concert of dance, Logbook is, at its core, an encounter between two performers opening their intimate repertoires and testing how disorder, excess and coexistence can be held together in real time.

Solène Wachter is a dancer and choreographer trained at the CNSMD in Paris and at P.A.R.T.S. In 2017, she began her career as a performer by joining 10,000 Gestures by Boris Charmatz, with whom she has collaborated on numerous projects. She has also worked with Némo Flouret on 900 Something Days Spent in the XXth Century, with Maud Le Pladec on Counting Stars with You, with Ashley Chen on Distances, and more recently with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Némo Flouret on Forêt, a work created for the Denon Wing of the Louvre Museum.
Bryana Fritz is a choreographer and dancer based in Marseille. She works at the intersection of poetry and performance, often in duet with the OS X user interface. Her work is nourished by a sustained interest in medieval literature, fan fiction, media studies and histories of illiteracy. She has worked as a performer with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Xavier Le Roy, Boris Charmatz and Dimitri Chamblas. Since 2016, she has collaborated with Henry Andersen under the name Slow Reading Club, a semi-fictional reading group that creates choreographed situations for choreographic reading.
