In his new solo, Thomas Hauert attempts to expand on a creative process already featured in his last two creations: the conversion of psychology, inner life, emotions and the unconscious into a driving force. The solo focuses on the experience of the outsider’s position, the person who is not part of the group, who looks on from the outside. Troglodyte will be the fourth solo created by Hauert in his twenty-seven-year artistic career.

Having worked as a dancer with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, David Zambrano and Pierre Droulers, among others, in 1998, Swiss choreographer Thomas Hauert founded his own company, ZOO, in Brussels. He has created more than 20 pieces that have been performed around the world. In addition to his work for ZOO, Hauert also develops projects commissioned by other companies and has developed an internationally recognised teaching method based on research conducted with his company on movement. He regularly teaches workshops in a number of countries worldwide. Hauert has a long-standing relationship with the Barcelona community and has collaborated with choreographers, such as Àngels Margarit (with the duet From B to B) and in the creation of the first piece for the Group La Bolsa collective entitled La mesura del desordre.
