Two of Ourandame’s regular collaborators perform solitary solos in an unnerving duet. Hypnotic gestures and turns, all intensely physical, are executed by Lithuanian dancer Lora Juodkaité, who can turn dizzyingly well on a single spot, while British dancer Annie Hanauer performs with a prosthesis, specifically, an articulated arm. This is a raw, captivating show.
Rachid Ourandame, who was associate artist at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris between 2010 and 2015 and at the Théâtre Bonlieu from 2005 to 2015 in Annecy, France, has been creating her own projects since 1995. Since 2016, she’s been co-director of the Centre Chorégraphique National in Grenoble.
