VIVIAN FRIEDRICH / NAU CHURUDUU

Sklenka Melta

From november 8 to 10
Popup - Descomptes

This circus movement composition features four performers surrounded by a landscape of glass objects. Sklenka Melta centres around the practices of movement and glass-blowing, playing with balance and exploring the contrasts between the rigid and the fluid, control and letting go, perfectionism and error. In the words of its creator, “I think contrasts need to be allowed to coexist in order to create diversity in that which is human, that which is collective and our surrounding environment.”

As well as a creative artist, Vivian Friedrich is also a researcher and performative circus artist. In 2022, she premièred Kristall Bohème at the Mercat, a piece dedicated to her family heritage of glass-blowing. Trained in circus arts and movement languages in a number of European countries, as well as creating her own projects she is also a circus theorist, playwright and artistic facilitator. The Nau Churuduu, a space devoted to promoting circus as a movement language, is currently focused on specific investigations using glass.
