L’esperança de vida d’una llebre is a poem about the figure of a hunter and his memories. Inspired by the writings of Neapolitan author Erri De Luca and philosopher María Zambrano, the piece is a reflection on time and memory in an evocative space that elicits images and stories: the forest. A proposal that focuses on the group, the identity of the body and its ability to generate action and compose onstage.
María Muñoz and Pep Ramis formed the dance group Mal Pelo in 1989. Since its beginnings the company has based its work on unremitting research into languages. During its early years, the group went on numerous international tours. Among other awards, Mal Pelo has received the 2009 National Dance Prize from the Spanish Ministry of Culture and the 2001 National Dance Prize from the Catalan Government. In 2001 Pep Ramis and María Muñoz opened L’animal a l’esquena, a centre for creation and multidisciplinary exchange based at a farmhouse in Celrà (Girona). The centre is a haven for experimentation and the exchange of ideas and experiences among stage directors, musicians, video artists, theorists and dancers, who participate through residencies, workshops and laboratories.
