LAVAELO

Is This A Dance?

March 22 and 23
Popup - Descomptes

Recommended ages: 5 to 11

Is skipping down the street or turning on the spot for no reason dancing? Is throwing your arms up in joy or stamping your feet in rage dancing? Two dancers explore this question, letting their bodies take the lead through a variety of rhythms. This show is for anyone who has ever found joy in mindlessly moving to the rhythm of the music like nobody was watching.

Lavaelo is a collaboration between dance artists Lola Maury and Eva Recacha, who create productions for young people and their families. Their work explores the essence of dance and focuses on the characteristics of movement: speed, length, rhythm, actions, all while observing how these ingredients interconnect and generate a multitude of exciting possibilities without being driven by a narrative. Their work explores individual instincts, which is particularly appealing to children as it expands on the way they learn through play. What are the components of a dance? How do the different ingredients fit together and what happens when they do?
