YURDANCE

In Vacuo

November 2 and 3
Popup - Descomptes

Two dancers with functional diversity move through an empty, infinite space, in which everything emerges, moves, fluctuates, disappears and returns. This piece invites self-enquiry and highlights issues such as human fragility and the impermanence of life. A space for questioning, for reflection and to continue the struggle for individual self expression.

Founded in 2014 by Míriam Aguilera and Rita Noutel, the Yurdance company claims a real place in the professional field of the performing arts through two women with disabilities who question what society determines for this group. Their own language based on their personal, social and artistic experiences. Their debut work, Cyclamen, was premiered at the first Seoul International Integrated Dance Festival (2017) and was awarded second prize for best choreography and interpretation at the Escena Mobile Festival (2018). They premiered their second piece, The Sound of Void, at the Escena Mobile Festival in Seville in 2021.
