PARK KEITO

COS DE SO: Rokatei

February 20 and 21
Popup - Descomptes

This choreographic and sound project, a bridge between the spheres of performance and concert, is inspired by the poems of Takahide Nishiwaki; fleeting impressions and timeless reflections that discuss the ephemeral nature of human existence and our relationship with nature. Rokatei means “the hut of the six songs”. During the piece, two people construct landscapes on stage, simultaneously conveying a multitude of symbolic implications and raising questions about the cycle of life.

The Barcelona-based Park Keito association was formed in 2017 as an umbrella for the collective work of Kotomi Nishiwaki and Miquel Casaponsa. Their research interests converge in a diverse range of disciplines, such as movement, sound and visual art to compose, choreograph and create stage pieces and installations. Their projects highlight different imaginaries to discuss the common perceptions and temporalities they share with the audience, both in theatres and in ‘site-specific’ spaces. Their work to date includes, Move Here Underneath the Soccer Field (2014), Miru (2018), New(a)days (2021) and Yukedo Yukedo (2023).
