Insomni is a theatre of objects show which explores poetic expressiveness in everyday life, creating a visual dramaturgy through the manipulation of objects and a visual and sound installation. The chosen objects have been completely destroyed and only their silhouettes remain. These objects become recollections of the thoughts of all those who have handled them, and alongside there is a person who shares this state of watchfulness, on the alert. They constitute a landscape of the human condition, poetic proof of their evolution and implementation in everyday life.
The portrait of a man on the edge. In a state of constant watchfulness, he observes life going on around him, but as if he was a little disorientated, perhaps due to drink, to lack of sleep, to hunger. And he seeks a way to survive. Around him bottles and everyday utensils, wire, the frame of a rickety bed. He does not use the remains of this bed to sleep on but instead builds a universe out of the materials.
PLAYGROUND is a theatre of objects company formed in 2003 by the actor cum manipulator and stage creator Xavier Bobés. His method of working with and exploring the world of commonplace objects is a long, artisanal process, private and solitary at first, with the object chosen for manipulation. Later he holds a creative dialogue with the rest of the team. The company has staged six shows to date.
