We Love Radio

As an resonance to the sound “Interval. Sound actions”, the Irregular Section, in collaboration with the Antoni Tàpies Foundation and BUDA (Kortrijk), We Love Radio, presents a selection of sound art pieces by artists who work in the field of experimental stage practice.

In a world massively dominated by images it would seem that the artists are paying more and more attention to sound and, by extension, the radio. For many creators of contemporary art the radio is not just an old and effective communication tool, but instead presents a wide range of very interesting possibilities: the lapse in time and the space, the voice and the body stimulate the imagination of the listeners and make them into the “active audience” of an imaginary show, everyone creating their own images depending on the sounds they hear.

During the 2 days of the festival a group of multidisciplinary artists from all over Europe will explore the relationship between radio and different, unexpected formats.

Coincidentally, the radio is also the medium of discourse “par excellence”. So we will take this opportunity to ask the artists to share their most important sources of audio inspiration on the radio.

From Teatron Emisiones Cacatua will be broadcasted on 26th, 27th and 28th of february.
