RYAN RIVADENEYRA presents Verde chillón

Secció Irregular 2014-15 desembre

Verde chillón is a series of seemingly disparate stories that interweave until they finally come together at the end of the performance. Based on an idea for a piece about the work of another artist, Verde chillón explores the strange relationship between two opposing concepts – like oxymorons – in the search for the perfect connection between object and subject. Through a PowerPoint presentation, the artist reveals his frustrations and discoveries during the conception and production of the project. Verde chillón was awarded the 2013 Miquel Casablancas prize.

Ryan Rivadeneyra (Miami, 1984) has lived in Barcelona since 2009. Before then, he studied at the Cooper Union in New York, with time also spent at the Städelschule in Frankfurt and San Francisco Art Institute. He has participated in several collective exhibitions in Barcelona, including «FACTOTUM» at the Antoni Tàpies Foundation, «Esto no es una exposición, tampoco» at the Fabra i Coats and «La condició narrativa» at La Capella. He has also participated at the following festivals: Art Souterrain in Montreal (2013), The Second Act in Amsterdam (2011) and Sugary Photographs with Tricks, Poses and Effects in Antwerp (2010). He was resident artist at Hangar in 2013, when he also won the Miquel Casablancas award for the best show.

CRIS BLANCO presents El agitador Vórtex

cris-blanco

After a killer virus wreaks havoc around the world, a hard-bitten hired gunman arrives in a small town in search of the site where it is believed the Jews deposited the tablets of stone inscribed with the commandments that God gave to Moses. During his search he saves the life of young ninja, Kein, who is being urged by her mother to marry Rolando, a rich jeweller in love with her despite knowing that she is expecting the child of another man. After endless years of civil war the monks decide to leave the mountains and this unleashes chaos and anger in the kingdom of Lancet. Then everyone’s struggle to fulfil their dream begins: to perform the closing number on Broadway. To do this they will have the help of an eccentric medium who uses her powers to save the President’s aeroplane from an attack by the Nazis.

But this mission will not be easy.

Cris Blanco has been developing stage projects since 2003 and works in the fields of performance, music, theatre and film, among others. A mixture of stage genres, conjuring tricks, changes in the meanings of signs and objects, science and fiction all play a role in his work. He is a member of the music bands The Elements and CALOR and belongs to the collective ANTES.
