First staged in 2002, Origami is the first show by Àngels Margarit / Cia. MUDANCES for young audiences. Dance takes the centre stage but blurs its limits to become inseparable from space, light, objects and music. A window, as an idea of space that can be delimited and designated, for looking and seeing, coming and going, suggesting and imagining and, ultimately, playing a kind of onstage maze game without losing the thread. Visual poetry full of surprises and suggestions, which invites us to make up our own story and provide a personal reading of the various dramatic situations.

Àngels Margarit belongs to the first generation of contemporary dancers that emerged in the late 1970s in Barcelona. She completed her studies at different centres around Europe and also in New York. In 1985 she created Mudances, the piece that also gives its name to her company. With her first shows, Mudances (1985) and Kolbebasar (1988), she hit the international scene, where she has regularly presented her work since then. Her latest pieces are Retrospectiva 25 anys, a 25-year retrospective of the company (2010), From B to B (2011), in collaboration with Thomas Hauert, and Capricis (2013). She has received numerous awards including the Grand Prix du Concours Chorégraphique Bagnolet for Kolbebasar (France, 1988), the National Dance Prize of Catalonia (1986, 1991, 1999) and the City of Barcelona Award for the Performing Arts (1993). In 2010 she won the National Dance Prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture.
