In the winter of 2001 while on tour in Australia and in front of the mirror in his dressing room, Merce Cunningham said “not a moment too soon” while recording himself with his video camera. Merce was 79 years at the time. Not a moment too soon is a multidisciplinary, dance-theater piece about the shared journey in the last 15 years of Merce Cunningham’s life, in which he was gracefully accompanied by Trevor Carlson, his Executive Director and friend. A introspective act based on the memory of Trevor that suggests a subjective and intimate view into the final days of a master.

Ferran Carvajal is a multidisciplinary artist who works as director, choreographer and performer. He has developed work for theater, dance, opera, film and television producing over 50 works both for stage and film. His work lies at the intersection of various theatrical disciplines. He is co-founder of the company Thorus Arts with Trevor Carlson. Trevor Carlson is an arts administrator and producer who lead for more than twenty years numerous artists with his visionary approach. He worked fifteen years for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company creating new contexts for the development of the Company and pioneering projects such as the transition to follow the founder’s death through the Legacy Plan.
