Eva Yerbabuena unveils her latest show in Barcelona and returns to Mercat de les Flors to present ¡Ay!, the show that the London public gave a standing ovation at its world premiere. And she makes it seem easy, in a journey to the essence of the genre, to the roots of flamenco. Yerbabuena manages to transcend flamenco and elevate it to the category of a supernatural experience.

This is not the first time Eva Yerbabuena has participated in Ciutat Flamenco. The flamenco dancer also collaborated in 2013 with the show Lo que nos queda de Carmen, which brought the festival to a close.

“I will lose myself: a shadow, a dream… perhaps
The uncertain feeling of having lived
The next second without now …”

“I learned from a beggar that the names of all those things that no-one has ever baptized, because they are invisible, lie in the spaces of sleep. And, if you pay attention, they can be seen, heard, touched… felt. They are only syllables, words that we have all uttered once without knowing what they referred to; and they wait hopelessly to breathe us in, feeling at that instant that there is someone in the world who names them, feels them, experiences them […]”, Eva Yerbabuena
