TIMETABLE OF THE PROGRAMM

Emisiones Cacatua

(in English, Flemish and Spanish, without translation)

1-Arantxa martinez -Emisiones Cacatua-web

On the 26th we broadcast with the Wild Classical Music Ensemble, a punk-rock group created in 2007 with the musical encounter between Damien and Lynh, Johan, Rudy, Kim and Sebastien, 5 musicians with mental disabilities. The program will be eminently musical and unclassifiable. Anybody who has listened them playing is astonished by their live performance. We will talk with the WCME in English, Flemish, French and even in some of the unknown tongues they speak.

On the 27th we conduct the radio program with “Compañeros”, a group of amateurs closely bound to Buda’s program. It will be a more oral approach focused on critique (we will lean on the performances of the previous days to develop critical games that may activate a critique without prejudices or references).

They speak in Flemish mainly. We will try to speak in English –even if our English is also very amateur- and we will prioritize the comfort of our guests. Therefore we will switch between English and Flemish and there will also be many contributions in Spanish.

Thursday 26th of February and Friday 27th of February from 17h to 19h at the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, Sala d’arts combinatòries

Ne prenez plus l’ascenseur, prenez le pouvoir!

(in French without translation)

2-manah_depauw_NE prenezplusl'ascenseur-web

Nothing distinguishes us from the people who listen to us. We are Lambda citizens who decided to become revolutionaries in less than a month. We embraced the battle and found ways to fight inability, succeed financially, encounter love and, most of all, counter depression and schizophrenia. In short: cobblestones instead of Xanax!

During one month Quentin Manfroy and Manah Depauw withdrew their money from the bank, attempted a political murder, engaged in sabotage and other acts of civil disobedience. They share their experiences in the radio documentary “Ne prenez plus l’ascenseur, prenez le pouvoir!”, composed of interviews, extracts from their journal, revolutionary thoughts, contradictions (often) and lack of courage (sometimes).

Thursday 26th of February from 19h to 20h at Fundació Antoni Tàpies, Sala d’arts combinatòries.

What does nature have to say?

3-myriam van imschoot _What doesnature have to say_-web

To find out, Myriam Van Imschoot visited a zoo, used a tuning fork to listen to a motorway, discovered on walks in the woods birds that sound like chainsaws or imitate the ringtones of mobile phones, and saw crocodiles in Australia that she couldn’t hear…

Drawing on a variety of field recordings, five performers – coming as well from the noise underground as from the pop scene – replicate these various sounds, using only their voices.

They give a kind of a cappella rendition of the planet’s soundscapes and the buzz in the world.

What Nature Says is a radiophonic performance, a show to listen to and to watch, both recognizable and abstract, and in which notions about humanity, nature and machines are questioned.

If you listen carefully, you will hear that not everything is running smoothly…

Des Miss & Des Mystères

(in French without translation)

4-DesmissetdesmystèresAntoniaBaehr-web

The German Antonia Baehr creates funny and unique performances, looking for new ways to show ‘What’s Different’ or ‘What has been Forgotten’.

For Des Miss & Des Mystères (French version) she collaborates with dancer Valérie Castan, who made a name for herself with audio descriptions of dance performances for people with visual deficiencies.

Now they create audio descriptions for imaginary choreographies, on stage overlaid with actions by Drag-  performer William Wheeler. Images and their descriptions get mixed in an unsolvable relationship. Language seems no longer unequivocal…

Des Miss & Des Mystères is at the same time choreography and radioplay, searching for the borders of Theatre. Exciting!

Friday 27th of February from 20h to 21h at Fundació Antoni Tàpies, Sala d’arts combinatòries.

We to be

(in English without translation)

5-mette edvardsen -wetobe-web

We to be is a performance that is written as a play and read out loud by one performer sitting together with the audience, in front of an empty stage. Additionally, the performance is broadcasted live on the radio. Thus, the piece is working with three medias presented simultaneously in three places: a performance on stage, a play in a book, and a live radio broadcast. Enjoy!

Friday 27th of February from 21h30 to 22h30 at Fundació Antoni Tàpies, Sala d’arts combinatòries.
